Common sense say that you should never reveal your personal information online. Sometimes, though, you can't avoid it. When you buy the latest drone or smart speaker online, you give the merchant your address for shipping, credit card details for payment, and email address for notifications. And then all you get is a huge bill and disappointment. Hacking Survey after Data Breach Survey and news report after news story are pointing that people have experienced a hacking attack like malware, data breach, credit card fraud, or ransomware. Cyber hacking crime is big, what can you do to avoid the worst?

What could be more important than providing insurance to help someone rebuild their life after a catastrophe —and then in particular, if they are already low-income and vulnerable? This is why I am in insurance, why I believe in microinsurance - microinsurance has the capability to allow people to rebuild after a catastrophe.
This years global conference was in Hong Kong and was a great opportunity to meet with old friends and to kick off some new business.
To re-write the Life of Brian sketch about the Romans….. What has insurance done for us? Well World Trade; General Mobility through vehicles & aeroplanes; Health, Security of loans and homes… OK OK OK so apart from World Trade, Mobility, Health, Security – what else?............ Nothing! So why is it that insurance seems so irrelevant when so often it is the enabler?
When a person is working in the GiG economy and Sharing Economy, the earnings represent a significant amount of income for that person, however over a year it tends not to be a significant proportion of income. This is because most people do not participate generally all year. Insurance for the sharing economy is still stuck in the past. Microinsurance is the future of gig and sharing economy insurance. Home sharing platforms are profitable ways to earn income from your home so long as you keep costs down and manage risk.

Generally Micro Insurance refers to providing insurance to low-income families in developing countries and continents. We like to offer a broader definition, this is where insurance products are developed to provide a specific coverage for a specific need or event. This generally results is a lower cost to customers for that event when compared to a monthly or annual cost for more traditional insurance.

The list can go on and on. To pick just 3 key points for challenges, where to start? Because if you look at that list above its EVERYTHING - the whole landscape is changing and needs to change. This is the challenge - everything!

GREAT graphics to show people the possible Hurricane Florence devastation but for the actual effects some people today just need to look out of the window! The actual effects are not new. Hurricanes can always cause huge flood damage. Its time to take this seriously.

British Airways said Thursday that the personal and financial details of customers were stolen in a data breach involving 380,000 bank cards. And then in other news, personal details of two million people were exposed online by a controversial tracking app that allows parents to spy on their children. The app, named mSpy, gives users complete access to another person's smartphone, allowing them to see everything from their texts and Facebook messages to their location and browsing history.
